HEADTEACHER’S WELCOME

I am very proud to be the Headteacher of St Anne’s CE Primary School. We are a welcoming, inclusive and diverse school, firmly rooted in our Christian values of Compassion, Curiosity and Confidence. Our vision is built around knowing our children and families well, creating a strong sense of belonging and ensuring that every child feels safe, valued and ready to learn. Warm relationships and supportive learning environments are at the heart of our school.

We are a truly inclusive school where every child is valued as an individual. We provide all our pupils with a structured, knowledge-rich curriculum, bespoke to St Anne’s and carefully designed to meet the needs of our particular school community. Our curriculum not only develops strong academic knowledge and skills but also helps our children to live out our values of Compassion, Curiosity and Confidence.

We are especially proud of the diversity of our school community. Our pupils speak more than 25 languages, and we celebrate the richness that this brings to our school. We have a strong international ethos and are committed to developing our children’s understanding of and curiosity about the wider world.

Our international partnerships are an important part of this work. We collaborate with our partner school, Gruner Campus Malchow Schule in Berlin, through UK-German Connections. We have also recently begun a guided partnership, through the British Council, with Zhukivtsi Gymnasium in Ukraine, focusing on Reading for Pleasure as part of the 100-year anniversary of the relationship between the UK and Ukraine. We are delighted to have been awarded the International School Intermediate Award in recognition of our developing international work. More information can be found in the International Partnerships section of our website.

We are also proud of the support we provide for our families. We were selected by the Department for Education as an Early Adopter Universal Free Breakfast Club school, meaning that all our pupils can access a free breakfast club place from 8:10am every day. We have also been selected as a Champion Free Breakfast Club School, supporting other schools locally and nationally to establish and develop their own free breakfast clubs.

From September 2026, we introduced full Wraparound Care, providing on-site provision from 7:30am until 5:30pm every day, in addition to our free breakfast club. Our Wraparound Care is led by a highly skilled and dedicated team who know our children well. Full details are available in the Virtual Office.

We offer a wide range of free extra-curricular opportunities for pupils in receipt of Pupil Premium funding, alongside a broad programme of clubs and activities available to all pupils. These are led by school staff and a range of external providers and give our children opportunities to discover new interests, develop talents and build confidence. More information can be found in the Extra-Curricular section of our website.

Our strong sense of community extends beyond the school gates. We work closely with St Anne’s Church, local school clusters and community and sporting organisations, including Inspire+ and Youth Dreams Project. These partnerships help us to provide our children with experiences and opportunities that enrich their education and connect them with the wider community.

And, of course, no introduction to St Anne’s would be complete without mentioning Bina, our school dog! Bina is a regular visitor to school and is very much loved by our children. She is always ready to receive a cuddle and reminds us of all of the importance of compassion.

We regularly share news, celebrations and updates from school on Instagram (@stannesschoolgrantham), so please follow us to keep up to date with life at St Anne’s.

I hope that this website gives you a sense of what makes St Anne’s such a special place to learn and work. If I can help you with anything further, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to meeting you and working together for the benefit of your child.
