After some wonderfully persuasive speeches and a tense vote the new School Council has now been elected. Have a look at the links above to see which children are representing each of the classes this year.

The School Councillors supported their classes in deciding our snack rules and healthy lunchbox guidelines, to try and make St Anne's a much healthier school. After lots of discussions, it was decided that we all needed to try and bring in healthier snacks to school every day (staff included!). The importance of drinking water was also discussed in classes and it was agreed that in order to help our brains concentrate and our bodies grow properly, we need to all bring water in our water bottles and drink regularly throughout the day. The classes collaborated to write a brilliant list of healthy snacks to choose from and we introduced 'Fruity Fridays'. School Council hope to continue running a fruit stall once every half term when we are able to, offering a range of fruit to buy at break time. 

The School Council will continue this year with their fundraising efforts in support of the charity, Toilet Twinning. The charity raises money for communities living in poverty across the world who have no access to a toilet. Our aim is to raise as much money as possible to enable African communities to build a latrine toilet in their village. This will help support them in minimising the spread of disease by keeping their local area clean. The School Council are looking for donations of 1, 2, 5 and 10 pence coins, which are being collected outside the office in their 'Toilet Twinning' charity bucket. The children will also be running a 'Blue for the Loo' non-uniform day and 'Chicken Poo Bingo' game! How exciting!
