Year 6 Local History Walk
Year 6 visited Grantham Cemetery and St Anne's Church as part of learning about the impact of the World Wars on our locality. We gad previously found out about the 115 war graves located in the cemetery and spent some time finding them. We talked about what we noticed, including any similarities or differences between the graves. We were very interested to look at the signs and symbols carved on the grave stones. We looked at the different war memorials in the cemetery and what and who they represented. We also visited the church to look at the war memorial in there for Grantham soldiers who lost their lives elsewhere in WW1.
