Year 2 Visit Gunby Woods
The children in Year 2 had the fantastic opportunity to visit a local woodland in the village of Gunby hosted by the Royal Forestry Commission. The children became plant detectives and using a spotter guide were able to identify the main trees using the shape of the leaves and seeds as clues. They learned about what trees and other plants need to grow and survive and were able to measure the trees to find out how old the trees were. Some of the trees were really old and some were much younger. The children can use what they learned to support and enhance their learning in Science and Geography this term. What fun they had!
