Y6 E-Safety Workshop

Y6 E-Safety Workshop

As part of our continuing work on understanding and practising safe use of the internet and social media, this afternoon we had a special visitor to talk with us.

We learnt about how social media often uses filters and editing on photoshop and how this can have an impact on our body image. We also discussed how this can affect boys just as much as girls. We talked about how we can keep ourselves happy when we come across images.

We discussed what is safe to share online and how to be aware of who our 'friends' are online. The use of fake social media accounts was a big focus and how people can use social media to carry out threatening and malicious behaviour and how this is a criminal offence for anyone over the age of 10.

Parents & Carers, keep an eye out with the school newsletter email for the information guides from the National Online Safety Partnership to provide advice for navigating the online world with our children and top tips for online safety.
