Y2 Trip to Newark Air Museum
What a fantastic learning experience for our 'Flying Firsts' theme. Year 2 enjoyed an informative trip to Newark Air Museum to learn all about early aircraft and how aeroplanes have changed over the past 100 years. We were able to see some of the earliest examples of aircraft and find out how aeroplanes have changed over the past 100 years but also learn how they fly. The children were particularly thrilled by the opportunity to climb inside helicopter, sit in a cockpit of an aeroplane and climb up to see the inside of the undercarriage of the Vulcan. What a treat! In addition, children made paper aeroplanes and took part in an investigation into whose would go the furtherest. What a brilliant day we had!
