Miss Righton had a lovely afternoon chatting with Year 1 parents about the Phonics Screening Check. We looked at what it was, how it is structured and how it will be administered. We also discussed how children decode words and looked at some sounds. We also chatted about how to engage children when reading with them. Most importantly, we got to eat the delicious chocolate tiffin that the children made for us to share. They are great bakers! Thank you to all who came. It was great to be able to have a relaxed chat in the comfort of the newly decorated bungalow.
