Year 2 Belton House Trip
Year 2 had a fabulous day out at Belton House on Wednesday 4thOctober. We had a tour of the house and learned all about the Brownlow family that used to live there and their servants. We discovered how the family used the different rooms and how it is different from our own homes. We also looked at different artefacts and discussed what they were used for. Downstairs in the basement, Year 2 were very intrigued by the roles of the servants as we explored what it would have been like to be a Mary or Tom in the house, who did all the cooking and cleaning for the family. We were also able to try on different replica Victorian clothes and play with Victoria toys to understand what it might have been like to be a Victorian child. After all that learning we had a great time in the Adventure Playground practising our climbing and balancing skills with our friends. What fun we had!
