Y6 Ancient Egyptian Day
Year 6 enjoyed an Ancient Egyptian themed day of learning and drama led by Partake History. During the morning, we first of all found out about the hierarchy of Ancient Egypt and then added to our learning on their process of mummification. Looking at lots of artefacts, we discovered the Ancient Egyptian beliefs regarding the amulets and the afterlife. We then found out about the herbs and spices that were traded during the Ancient Egyptian times including cumin, cinnamon, frankincense and myrrh. During the afternoon, we went into the hall to take part in an Ancient Egyptian burial ceremony.
We definitely had a great day and have learnt lots to help us in our 'Walk like an Egyptian' topic!
