Y6 Trip to Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Y6 Trip to Yorkshire Sculpture Park

On Tuesday 26th September, Year 6 went to visit Yorkshire Sculpture Park. As part of our topic work, we had been studying sculpture and the work of Antony Gormley. The park is filled with a wide variety of sculptures and is set in beautiful scenery so was a perfect location to visit.

We saw lots of sculptures on our walk around the park during the morning. There were lots of thoughtful discussions about the sculptures and we took lots of photos. In the afternoon, we chose one of our favourite sculptures to do some sketching of and enjoyed sitting (especially after all of our walking during the morning!) and taking in our surroundings. One of our highlights was seeing a sculpture by Antony Gormley called ‘One and Other’.
