Christingle
This afternoon, the children, staff, governors, parents and friends of St Anne’s gathered together for our Christingle Service at St Anne’s Church. Children in Year 6 explained the origins of the Christingle service and Year 2 told the Nativity story superbly through narrative verse. Year 4 recited the Christmas poem 'Twas the night before Christmas, using sign language to accompany their wonderful performance. The school choir did a great job at leading us with the singing of lots of carols. Children from Year 1 also sang 'Rock-a-bye baby, Rock', a song from our recent Christmas play, Superstar.
Special thanks to Vicar David for leading our service, to Mrs Arms-Rawden, for reading a letter from the Bishop and to Liz Boland for reminding us of the importance of remembering Jesus at this special time of year, echoing the message of our Christmas play that Jesus is the true 'superstar' of the Christmas story.
Thank you to so many family and friends who were able to attend our Christingle celebrations. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
