Year 1's Trip to Belton House

Year 1's Trip to Belton House

Year 1 were very lucky to have enjoyed the warmest day of the year so far on their trip to Belton House today. On arrival we were greeted by some lovely volunteers, who gave us a fantastic and very insightful tour of the gardens.

We learnt all about the history of of the gardens and really enjoyed looking at all the beautiful plants and trees that were growing there. The children were very excited to explore, listened well and asked lots of questions about the things that they were looking at. We all particularly enjoyed looking in The Orangery and discovering the exotic plants and trees growing in there.

After a frolic in the daffodils and a sniff of the lavender, we ventured off to find a place to eat our lunch and were joined by a mummy duck and her brood of gorgeous little ducklings! The children were thrilled!

Onto the afternoon and we decided to go and explore the maze within the gardens. The children were very keen to find their way to the middle of the maze and back out again. They were excited to find that there were lots of muddy puddles to splash about in in the maze too!

We finished the day with a play in the very busy adventure playground, where all the children were brilliantly behaved and played beautifully alongside lots of other children. All the adults were very proud!

Finally, a quick trip on the coach with our very friendly bus driver and we were back home. What a super day!
